Understanding Customer Care Packages: Which Level Do You Need?

With CCPs tailored to meet the needs of every organization, it’s easy to find the right fit.

Leveraging a Leica Customer Care Package (CCP) helps you keep your survey equipment running optimally through regular firmware and software updates, hardware maintenance, extended warranties, and access to premium customer service.

Leica Geosystems offers five levels of CCP, tailored to enhance the performance and longevity of your instruments and operations based on the needs of your organization. How do you know which CCP is right for you?

Basic

Designed to cater to a broad range of products and users, a Basic CCP provides essential customer support along with immediate access to the latest firmware and software updates. Equipment covered under a Basic CCP will alert your team when updates are available and will continue to send reminder prompts until the updates are installed. These updates are vital for keeping your devices functioning optimally, as they often include bug fixes, performance improvements, and new capabilities.

Whether you are using GNSS receivers, total stations, data collectors, or office software, a Basic CCP will ensure that your equipment and software are current, supported, and ready to keep you productive.

Blue

The Blue CCP includes everything in the Basic CCP and adds preventive hardware maintenance. This package provides protection against unforeseen failures and unplanned costs by making sure your instruments consistently deliver optimal performance.

The maintenance provided under the Blue CCP includes a regular schedule of detailed inspection, thorough cleaning, lubrication, and checking to ensure that the instrument stays within factory specifications—an especially important consideration for the precision and accuracy of total stations and laser scanners. All service and maintenance performed under the Blue CCP is carried out to the highest quality standards by factory-trained technicians.

A Blue CCP also includes local benefits such as consulting, guidance, and premium support.

Bronze

The Bronze CCP is available at the time of purchase and includes everything in the Basic package plus up to five years of extended warranty coverage. This CCP level is particularly suited for high-value technology such as GNSS systems and controllers. While new equipment usually comes with a standard one-year warranty, the Bronze CCP extends this warranty, ensuring longer protection against potential issues or malfunctions.

If you choose to finance your technology with a four- or five-year finance agreement, you can align this agreement with a Bronze CCP to ensure that the warranty coverage matches the full term of the financing agreement.

A Bronze CCP also includes local benefits such as consulting, guidance, and premium support.

Silver

The Silver CCP, also available at the time of purchase, functions as a combination of the Blue and Bronze CCPs. It includes both hardware maintenance and an extended warranty along with all the other benefits. This level of coverage makes it a great fit for firms that want to be proactive in keeping their total stations and laser scanners calibrated while also extending their warranty coverage.

Gold

The Gold CCP represents the highest tier of support and service. This package is designed to minimize downtime and maximize efficiency, especially in situations where precision equipment requires regular preventive maintenance servicing and calibration.

A standout feature of the Gold CCP is the provision of loaner equipment while your own device is being serviced. This is particularly valuable for laser scanners, which may have a longer turnaround time for calibration. During this period, having access to a loaner scanner ensures that your work will continue uninterrupted.

Which CCP Is Right for You?

Whether you’re purchasing a single instrument or investing in an enterprise-level solution, a CCP is an easy add-on that can maximize your value and deliver peace of mind. A Basic and Blue CCP can even be added after your purchase if you miss the opportunity during the buying process.

Ultimately, choosing the right CCP depends on your organization’s needs and objectives.

“Every situation is different,” says Todd Hermsen, customer success manager for Leica Geosystems in the U.S. and Canada. “Our CCPs are user-driven, so we can tailor a package to your specific needs to maximize your value.”
