What happens when you use the GPS position from the compact, lightweight GS05 to aid in a prism search? Burke Asay puts it to the test.
Losing prism lock is a frustrating situation that most surveyors have experienced at some point, especially when working on a congested site with other prisms, reflections, moving objects, and line-of-sight obstructions. Can the new Leica GS05 GNSS Smart Antenna offer a solution?
Watch what happens when Burke Asay puts the technology to the test in the video above.
Here’s another clip from a recent webinar where Burke explained the GS Search capability of the GS05. The search can be triggered with a hot key, a user favorite option, or automatically following a loss of prism lock. Once triggered, the instrument will automatically turn and point directly below the GS sensor to help your total station find your prism.
