“The little brother to the GS18” – that’s how Rami Tamimi describes the new Leica GS05 GNSS RTK rover. In a new video, Rami takes the GS05 for a test drive.
He notes the small and lightweight form factor, highlights the extensive battery life, shows how to use tilt with the built-in IMU, and demonstrates how to use the GS05 as a standalone instrument to quickly complete a survey without needing to level up the pole. Screen captures on the CS30 tablet show the workflow in Captivate field software.
But watch what happens about four minutes into the video when he integrates the GS05 with a surveying total station for a hybrid surveying approach.
Rami also shows how adding the AP20 AutoPole to the kit achieves the “ultimate survey setup.”
